TC Barney earns its name from a velvety deep-purple body, flecked with green-gold coenosarc and capped by blue-violet growth tips. The corallite rims edge magenta, and under actinic light the whole colony reads saturated purple with electric tips. Branches grow upright and thick with dense, even corallites.
