We don't import colonies to cut and resell. Every coral we sell comes from a mother colony that has been growing on our farm, often for years, and every frag has been grown out and fully healed before it's listed. That changes what the photos on our listings show.
Two kinds of listings
- Strain listings show the mother colony and a typical frag from that lineage under our lighting. You get a frag of comparable size and color, and before it ships we send you a photo or video of your actual frag.
- WYSIWYG pieces are one-of-a-kind corals. The piece in the photo is the exact coral you receive.

A healthy frag, encrusted onto its plug, at a size that suits the species. This video shows a batch straight off our racks.
Where your frag comes from
Each listing shows its mother colony, how long it has been in our system, and the 90-day water parameter averages of the tank it lives in. You can browse the colonies themselves on Meet the Mothers.
Color in your tank
Our photos are taken under our lighting. Your coral's color will settle to your lighting, nutrients, and flow, so expect some change over the first few weeks. Our light schedules are on the lighting page if you want to compare.
