Earns its tangelo name from a solid, citrus-orange body furred all over with fine, velvety polyps that give the surface a soft, mossy nap. The plate encrusts flat with a few raised bumps rising through the fur, and a pale blue-white rim traces the growing edge. Reads pure tangerine-gold under actinic light.
