Mardi Gras

Short, thick branches finish in pale lavender-blue corallites, each one flaring open around a bright yellow-green mouth. Between them Mardi Gras pushes out a dense field of salmon-pink polyps that blurs the whole colony into a soft haze under blue light, with green tissue showing through where it encrusts across the base. That cool lavender against the warm pink polyp field is what earns the name.

Heavy polyp extension and a low, chunky growth habit — it thickens and encrusts outward before it starts to climb. Grown and fragged here in our Toronto facility.
